Trip to Austria
On Sunday 24th May, Cove school took a group of year 9 and 10 students on an exciting trip to Austria. We arrived at the amazing hotel on the Monday morning and jumped straight into the activities. We started off by splitting off into two groups and went white water rafting. It was amazing, only some people fell in but that was the fun of it. Mrs Griffin jumped at the chance at going for a swim in the river, as did Bethan and Max! On Tuesday it rained heavily but we went down the salt mines so stayed pretty dry. To go down deeper into the mine you have to go a strange wooden slide. We took lots of pictures and got given our own small tub of salt, it was a lovely experience. After some lunch back at the hotel, we made our way over to the water park. There were some awesome slides, an outside and an inside pool, a scarily high diving board and a hot tub (we all knew where to find the teachers …). Mr Crook embarrassingly got stuck in one of the slides and had to wait to be let out. Jawad learnt to swim and was soon competing with the others doing backflips off the diving board. On Wednesday, we started the day with the high ropes course, which Mr Stopps thoroughly enjoyed. After the terrifying time at the high ropes, we made our way into Salzburg. It was a beautiful place with a magnificent view. We all split up into our own groups seeing different sites and making our way round to find shops and a place to eat. We made our way back to the hotel then we left to go to a place where they had a toboggan run. The toboggan run was a small rollercoaster which looked quite scary but was actually awesome. You were able to control how fast or slow you were going. Everyone enjoyed it and some of us were lucky to go on more than once. As it was the last full night of the trip, the hotel and the teachers put together a disco. Everyone did their own thing and we all ended up enjoying the night, even the teachers. The next morning we were kicked out of our rooms and had to pack for our way home. We had the choice of doing what we wanted either going to Salzburg, the water park or just staying at the hotel. We finished off the amazing trip with a delicious BBQ and a range of activities arranged by the hotel. Bring on next year!
