Cove School Open Mornings 2026

Welcome to Cove School

We are dedicated to providing an exceptional learning experience for all students, whilst also supporting them to become mature, self-confident and well-rounded young people. We recognise that words, pictures and statistics will only give you a hint of the warmth, ambition and commitment of Cove and we invite you to see us in action. More from our Open Evening on Thursday: Our Music and Drama departments were busy with excitement. Visitors had the opportunity to see and experience our fantastic facilities and equipment; they were also able to have a go at some of our instruments and watch some of our wonderful and talented performers!

We’re very excited to announce that our first School Production meeting will take place after school on Monday 28th September in Room 12! Come along to be the first to discover what this year’s production will be and find out how you can get involved. Whether you love acting, singing, dancing, performing or helping behind the scenes, we would love to see you there. No previous experience is needed, just enthusiasm! We are very much looking forward to welcoming prospective students and their families to our Open Evening tonight! From 6.00pm to 8.00pm. We have lots of surprises and events happening through the evening, and for the hungry we have samples of food we offer here at Cove School from our wonderful caterers Aspens. We also have slushies to offer and sweets and gifts from our Cove School wagon. There will be lots of exciting activities taking place around the school, including Science experiments, mono printing in Art, musical performances, and the chance to take part in a range of PE activities. Our new Headteacher will also be holding talks at 6.30pm and 7.00pm. We look forward to seeing you there!

Commando Joe's is having a big impact on our KS3 Students here at Cove School, who are all benefitting from explicit character education. Students across the school have access to their tailor made mentoring in line with their RESPECT framework. Please watch the following video for more information about Commando Joe's mission:

We are looking forward to welcoming prospective students and their families to our Open Evening on Thursday from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to explore our school, meet our staff and students, discover our facilities, and learn more about life at Cove School. There will be lots of exciting activities taking place around the school, including Science experiments, mono printing in Art, musical performances, and the chance to take part in a range of PE activities. Our new Headteacher will also be holding talks at 6.30pm and 7.00pm. There is no need to book to attend the Open Evening. Our Open Morning tours will take place from Monday 28th September to Friday 2nd October, between 9.00am and 10.30am. Places are limited, so please visit our website to book your place today!

COVE SCHOOL WARHAMMER CLUB! ⚔️ Is your child interested in Warhammer? Whether a complete beginner or already a seasoned player, everyone is welcome to our lunchtime club held every Wednesday at Cove School. Come along to paint, build, learn, play games, and meet other students who also enjoy Warhammer. All students welcome!

Focusing on parents/carers and understanding their own needs and learning strategies to look after themselves as they support a young person with their own mental health needs. Extra-Curricular Clubs and Activities at Cove School! Cove School offers a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities designed to help students develop their interests, discover new talents and build confidence outside of their normal lessons. The activities provide opportunities for students to: - Develop new skills and explore interests beyond the classroom. - Build confidence and independence through participation in activities and clubs. - Work collaboratively with other students and develop communication and teamwork skills. - Improve physical health and wellbeing through sporting and active opportunities. - Develop creativity through arts, music, drama and other creative activities. - Explore academic interests through subject-related clubs and enrichment activities. - Make new friends and become more involved in the wider school community. We offer a mixture of sporting, creative, academic, social and enrichment activities, giving students opportunities to take part in activities that match their interests as well as encouraging them to try something completely new. We are delighted to announce that Forces Friday will be starting back up on Friday 25th September at Cove School. Sessions will take place every Friday, on Week B, during morning Registration in the Library and are open to all service children in Years 7–11. We look forward to seeing some new faces and welcoming everyone back!

Yesterday we were delighted to welcome Joe Rowntree from 'Talk the Talk', a charity dedicated to developing young people’s oracy skills. Our Year 8 and 9 students took part in engaging workshops, with students speaking brilliantly about their partners in front of their peers and developing their confidence and presentation skills. After school, staff also took part in a session exploring how we can develop oracy in our teaching, encourage more students to speak in lessons and increase active participation. Oracy is an essential life skill, helping students to express ideas clearly, listen to others, build confidence and prepare for life beyond school. A huge thank you to Joe and Talk the Talk for an inspiring day!"

Year 10 parents - To support your child on their new path on their GCSE journey, we will be hosting a Year 10 Information Evening, this coming Thursday 17th September from 5:30pm - 6:30pm. The evening is designed to give you a greater insight into the year ahead for your child. We want to provide you with key dates, sources of information to support students with study and wellbeing. All year 10 students are encouraged to attend. Please limit to 2 spaces per family. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday evening.

🤟 BSL Sign Language Club - Launching This Term! We’re excited to be launching our BSL Sign Language Club this term, and it’s open to all students! 🎉 The club will take place every Wednesday lunchtime in the Deaf and Hearing Loss Hub. It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to learn some British Sign Language (BSL), develop new communication skills, and have fun while doing so.
