Cove School Open Evening and Mornings 2026

Welcome to Cove School

We are dedicated to providing an exceptional learning experience for all students, whilst also supporting them to become mature, self-confident and well-rounded young people. We recognise that words, pictures and statistics will only give you a hint of the warmth, ambition and commitment of Cove and we invite you to see us in action. Extra-Curricular Clubs and Activities at Cove School! Cove School offers a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities designed to help students develop their interests, discover new talents and build confidence outside of their normal lessons. The activities provide opportunities for students to: - Develop new skills and explore interests beyond the classroom. - Build confidence and independence through participation in activities and clubs. - Work collaboratively with other students and develop communication and teamwork skills. - Improve physical health and wellbeing through sporting and active opportunities. - Develop creativity through arts, music, drama and other creative activities. - Explore academic interests through subject-related clubs and enrichment activities. - Make new friends and become more involved in the wider school community. We offer a mixture of sporting, creative, academic, social and enrichment activities, giving students opportunities to take part in activities that match their interests as well as encouraging them to try something completely new. #Cove School 21 September

We are delighted to announce that Forces Friday will be starting back up on Friday 25th September at Cove School. Sessions will take place every Friday, on Week B, during morning Registration in the Library and are open to all service children in Years 7–11. We look forward to seeing some new faces and welcoming everyone back!

Yesterday we were delighted to welcome Joe Rowntree from 'Talk the Talk', a charity dedicated to developing young people’s oracy skills. Our Year 8 and 9 students took part in engaging workshops, with students speaking brilliantly about their partners in front of their peers and developing their confidence and presentation skills. After school, staff also took part in a session exploring how we can develop oracy in our teaching, encourage more students to speak in lessons and increase active participation. Oracy is an essential life skill, helping students to express ideas clearly, listen to others, build confidence and prepare for life beyond school. A huge thank you to Joe and Talk the Talk for an inspiring day!"

Cove School are proud to begin our journey with Commando Joe's! Students in KS3 will all benefit from explicit character education. Students across the school will have access to their tailor made mentoring in line with their RESPECT framework. Welcome Commando Joe's to Cove School!

Year 10 parents - To support your child on their new path on their GCSE journey, we will be hosting a Year 10 Information Evening, this coming Thursday 17th September from 5:30pm - 6:30pm. The evening is designed to give you a greater insight into the year ahead for your child. We want to provide you with key dates, sources of information to support students with study and wellbeing. All year 10 students are encouraged to attend. Please limit to 2 spaces per family. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday evening.

🤟 BSL Sign Language Club - Launching This Term! We’re excited to be launching our BSL Sign Language Club this term, and it’s open to all students! 🎉 The club will take place every Wednesday lunchtime in the Deaf and Hearing Loss Hub. It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to learn some British Sign Language (BSL), develop new communication skills, and have fun while doing so. Eco Festival 2026 Sunday 13 September - 11am to 4pm West End Centre, Aldershot We're delighted to invite local schools pupils and their families to this year's Eco Festival, a free community event packed with fun, hands-on activities that inspire people of all ages to learn more about sustainability, nature and how small actions can make a positive difference. What's happening on the day? • Interactive shows and workshops: - Junk Jodie storytelling show and craft activities - Poetry workshops with Rushmoor's Junior School Eco Poet, Andrew Smith - exploring themes from Australia and South America - Fairtrade chocolate tasting with the Coop - Cooking up Change – Tips for Plant based cooking • Bring your bike - Free basic bike servicing from BikeStart, including puncture repairs. • Energy Efficency advice, and Solar and heat pump advice service. • Explore local nature and community groups - Children's activities with Wellesley Woodlands. • Waste and recycling - Meet Rushmoor Borough Council's waste and recycling team and the Rushmoor Binfluencers to learn more about reducing waste and recycling correctly. • Sustainable shopping - Browse a variety of locally made and sustainable products from community businesses and organisations. Why share with pupils and families? The Eco Festival provides a fantastic opportunity for children and young people to: • Learn about sustainability in a fun and engaging way. • Explore nature and environmental issues through interactive activities. • Discover practical actions they can take at home and school. • Develop an understanding of Fairtrade, recycling, energy efficiency and sustainable travel. • Connect with local community groups and environmental initiatives. 🇪🇸 Spanish Club starts tomorrow (Wednesday 9th September)! 🇪🇸 This week some of our Extra-Curricular Clubs begin! Tomorrow, we’re excited to launch our Spanish Club, which will run every Wednesday from 3:15pm to 4:00pm. The club is open to all KS3 students who would like to join - and you don’t need to study Spanish to take part! It's a fun and relaxed club focused on exploring Spanish-speaking cultures through different activities such as dancing, singing, arts and crafts, drama, games, and more. We are especially proud of our new Year 7 students, who have made a fantastic start and embraced the challenge of secondary school. The programme supports students' personal development and wellbeing while equipping them with the skills, habits and mindset they need to thrive academically and achieve their full potential.

GCSE Examination Results Day - Thursday 20th August 2026 We are looking forward to welcoming our Year 11 students to school on Thursday 20th August 2026 to collect their GCSE examination results. Results will be available for collection from 9:30am. Students should enter the school site via the MFL Block gate entrance, where staff will be based outside the Year 7 Zone to distribute results in person.
