Cove School Steel Band

The Steel band have had a fantastic time this term going on tour around the local Primary schools. We have been to Cove Infants twice, Cove Juniors, Tower Hill, Grange Infants, Grange Juniors and Fernhill Primary.

The audiences have all really enjoyed their performances. Here is a message that one member of staff sent after a visit:

We had your steel drum band come to play for us this morning and I just had to get in touch. WOW! I’m not even sure where to start. We have had famous authors in, professional footballers and many more guests, but none have been so engaging as your band were this morning.

Another school:

There have been lots of comments from staff and children all positive, lots of how enjoyable it was, wishing they could have had a go, amazed at the skill of the students particular that they all moved around drums to play. All wowed by it- I just loved the whole experience, the freedom to be all absorbed in the music- a brilliant afternoon that they won’t forget.

The experience has been invaluable for the performers and the audiences alike. The band also played at the beginning of the year 6 parent evening and at the opening ceremony of Sports Day.

Congratulations to all band members; Sid Whittington, Elliot Richmond, Nicola MaCrae, Sophie Elliot Collier, Isaac Solari Daag, and Matt Romaine. Well done to you all.
